About FixQuote
FixQuote publishes cost guides for US home repairs and installations. Our goal is simple: homeowners should know what a fair price looks like before the first contractor arrives.
How we build our cost ranges
Every price range on this site is compiled by the FixQuote Research Team from multiple sources reviewed together:
- Published contractor pricing and rate sheets across US regions
- National construction and repair cost databases
- Publicly reported homeowner invoices and project totals
- Manufacturer parts pricing for common components
We publish ranges rather than single numbers because real quotes vary by region, season, access difficulty, and local code requirements. Where a factor reliably moves the price, we say so in the guide.
Editorial standards
- Cost guides are editorial. Contractors and brands cannot pay to be featured or ranked.
- Every guide shows its last update date. Ranges are reviewed against current-year pricing.
- Safety guidance is conservative on purpose: where DIY carries real risk (gas, sewage, structural), we say so plainly.
How this site makes money
When you request quotes through FixQuote, we may be paid by the service networks and professionals who receive your request. This never changes the prices in our guides, which are researched independently.
